A TRIUMPH THOUGH, NOT A NEGATIVE ADHD THING, NO SIR

Okay no more caps.

Anyway! The other day I was frustrated and defeated. I'm not in good physical shape. While I am healthy to a degree, my weight alone puts me at risk. I had lost a bit of weight a few years back but just had a year where I sort of caved, planed, and then began to gain again. Now, I'm not an advocate for changing yourself for bad reasons, but my fear for my health is absolutely a good reason. My cholesterol is high, and my doctor is being greatly patient and gently urging me to do more for myself. I love the man, he is the first doctor I've had who didn't blame my problems on my weight, and it didn't even become a hot topic of discussion till he started noticing my cholesterol rising.

One of the things he urged was to eat six (6) servings of veggies a day. Which was practically nonexistent to my diet. And looking online, all the recipes were these expensive or take a long time to prepare, OR had exotic ingredients that would be hard to find and prepare. It was ridiculous! It was inaccessible... I searched for 'Recipes for ADHD people' and let me tell you, don't Google that 'cause all it gave me was "Oh, you have a kid with ADHD? Here are brain foods you the parent can prepare for them!" which, while helpful to some people, was not what I needed at all.

Then I realized that there's a code you have to crack online. You have to learn to word shit differently to find what you want. Looking for 'Quick, easy and Cheap recipes' netted me a few good ones. And struck with this drive that I hadn't felt in well over a year, I wrote down ingredients, bookmarked recipes, and planned out some meals.

My triumph is that today is the second day in a row I have prepped and cooked a full meal. We went grocery shopping for everything a few days back and i'm at a loss because I have too many vegetables rn!! Which NEVER happens! But I mean, I used them and fresh meat to create food that wasn't just.. Sloppy joes, or tacos, or mac and cheese, or frozen food I stuck in the oven. Not that any of those are bad, i've just been doing and eating the same type of food and none of it was what I needed.

SO ANYWAY have my triumph and may it empower you all who feel like you're at the end of your rope. Maybe that sudden drive is around the corner for you too.
